Research

Research within the Ward Team uses mixed methods to investigate and improve understanding and experiences within the teaching and learning of chemistry. We explore and establish evidence-based guidelines about the use of digital technologies and visualizations that impact the teaching and learning of organic chemistry to improve the assessment of learning and enhance the availability, accessibility, and adoption of quality chemistry education resources. We also examine the structures surrounding chemistry education and training to cultivate and promote self-efficacy in the classroom and laboratory to lead to an improved and diverse STEM workforce.

We welcome team members (undergraduate students, postbaccalaureate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars) passionate about investigating the best practices of teaching and learning chemistry.
