Find the place where you belong

IUPUI offers a wide variety of on-campus living options. You can choose to live in a historic residence hall, a suite, or even an apartment.

You can also pick from more than a dozen residential based learning communities that give you the opportunity to live with other students who share your interests—including a number of science-focused options.

There are communities for first-year students as well as upper-level and even graduate students. No matter what you choose, you’ll have easy access to everything the IUPUI campus offers and live in a supportive environment that helps you feel at home.

STEM community for first-year students

The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Community in North Hall is the place for you to get the most out of your first year of college with a diverse group of first-year students who are also studying science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

You’ll take part in special academic and career-oriented activities just for the people in the STEM community. You’ll also be able to connect with faculty and staff involved in STEM fields, as well as upperlevel students in the School of Science.

If you identify as female, you can also join the WiSE community, which offers additional programming for women in STEM.

Women in Science House (WISH)

WISH is a community within the Riverwalk Apartments for female science students at a variety of academic levels.

Programming includes monthly social and academic events, plus:

WISH Formal
Volunteering at Gleaners

If you are selected to be a WISH resident, you’ll also receive a scholarship of at least $2,300.

Purdue House

Purdue House is a community for sophomore through graduate students, primarily from the School of Engineering and Technology, within the Riverwalk apartments.

Planned social activities as well as organized tutoring are available to Purdue House residents. In addition, a 24-hour computer lab with relevant software is available within a common area for Purdue House resident use.

How to apply

If you’re interested in becoming part of one of these communities, you’ll need to complete the IUPUI Housing Application and request a Residential Based Learning Community (RBLC) at the end of the form.

The housing application opens on November 1 to admitted students. On-campus housing is limited so you’ll want to apply before the Priority Consideration date of March 15. Applications are processed in order of application date so applying sooner helps your chances of getting the assignment you prefer.
