Our research focuses on developing new ways of applying mass spectrometry to difficult problems. Mass spectrometry is useful in such diverse fields as biomedical research and clinical testing, forensic science, homeland security, and food safety because of its sensitivity, specificity, and generality.
Our interests lie at the interface between theoretical/computational chemistry and biophysics. The current research in the lab is directed towards understanding how biomolecules perform their functions via dynamical motions that are encoded in their three dimensional structures.
SEIRI serves as the hub of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education innovation, research, evaluation and consultation and brings together expert educational researchers with scientists and discipline-based educational researchers in order to inform and reform undergraduate and graduate education across IUPUI’s campus and beyond.
Our research has a fundamental interest in developing innovative synthetic methodologies in organic chemistry, with a particular interest in the development of mutually beneficial substrate-catalysis concepts and their application to complex targets, especially biologically relevant compounds.
