Beckman Scholars Program

The Beckman Scholars Program provides in-depth, sustained undergraduate research experiences for exceptionally talented, full-time Biology and Chemistry undergraduate students at IUPUI.

The IUPUI Beckman Scholars Program targets outstanding students from diverse backgrounds who exhibit a love of science. Beckman Scholars must commit to the 15-month contiguous program and must conduct their research with one of the 12 approved faculty mentors.

Beckman Scholars perform research part-time (ten hours per week) during one academic year, and full-time over two consecutive summers (ten 40-hour weeks each summer). The program provides $21,000 of financial support for the Beckman Scholar ($18,200 stipend and $2,800 for supplies and travel), as well as full tuition support as needed. Beckman Scholars will benefit from additional professional development opportunities and will be well-positioned to pursue their graduate education and careers in science.
