The Psychology Resource Center, located in LD 129, offers you mentoring and support for your psychology courses. We are open approximately 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Help is free and available on a walk-in basis.
If you are enrolled in Introductory Psychology, B110, statistics and research courses (including B305, B311), or psychology capstones, you may come to the center for help with homework exercises, study skills, exam preparation strategies, essay and paper writing, logging into Sona (human research participant pool), or anything else related to your courses.
For assistance for specific courses, contact your instructor or check on the PRC door (LD129).
B110 Learning Assistants (LAs) are trained to assist students enrolled in B110 with study skills and understanding course content. LAs attend class sessions, assist the professor in taking attendance, help to run in-class activities, hold review sessions, and assist with entering grades for some assignments. LAs regularly respond to emails from students and post announcements on Canvas to help students navigate the course successfully. LAs also hold office hours in our Psychology Resource Center assisting students on a walk-in basis with a variety of issues including homework assignments, exam preparation, paper writing, time management, and general study skills.
To apply to become a Learning Assistant, students should have completed B110 or equivalent with a grade of B or higher, have an overall GPA at least 3.0, and a psychology GPA at least 3.0. Psychology major or minor is helpful but not required. If you are selected as a Learning Assistant, you will be assigned to a B110 section that fits your schedule. Learning Assistants are required to attend and assist during class sessions and participate in a bi-weekly assistant seminar held on Fridays.

The Peer Advisor is a student held paraprofessional position. The Peer Advisor reports to Kate Alberding and performs duties in the Psychology Advising Office. The main purpose of this position is to advise a diverse body of psychology majors, educating them about academic and course advising resources & tools, career development resources & tools, and experiential learning opportunities.
This will help build students' academic and career planning confidence, knowledge about their degree program and career options, and action plan to carry out their academic and career goals.
