Neuroscience, a unique cross-disciplinary program
What is neuroscience?
Neuroscience is a rapidly advancing field addressing the structure and function of the nervous system, with particular focus on the intersection between the brain and behavior. Neuroscientists routinely draw on the fields of psychology, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computer science in their work. That’s just one of the many reasons neuroscience is an interesting and challenging field of study.
Get an early start in research
As early as your freshman year, you can participate in research with renowned faculty. Our students can be found working alongside faculty as they conduct research in areas such as Alzheimer’s disease, drug addiction, computation neuroscience, pain, and obesity.
Our students are at a unique advantage to have an impact in neuroscience because of our strong partnerships with the School of Medicine and with organizations in central Indiana who are aligned with life and health science, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries.Explore research opportunities
