Beating Quantum Mechanics with Quantum Mechanics

Heisenberg uncertainty relation (HUR) prevents us to make simultaneous precise measurement of two conjugate (non-commuting) physical quantities. In this talk, we see how to get around HUR with another quantum concept, namely, quantum entanglement. We will demonstrate simultaneous measurement of the phase and amplitude of an optical field with precision beating what is allowed by HUR.
