14 Science students awarded 2019 Plater Medallion
The William M. Plater Civic Engagement Medallion recognizes graduating students that have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their community while attending IUPUI. Activities typically include volunteerism, political engagement, service learning, and community/social issue advocacy. Often these students demonstrate a personal and intellectual growth along with a positive community impact.

Amy Maidi receives senior academic advisor distinction
As a constant advocate and supporter for forensic science students, Amy Maidi is a force for student success within the School of Science. In recognition of her achievements and dedication, Maidi has been promoted to senior academic advisor. Maidi has served as an academic advisor for the Forensic and Investigative Sciences program since 2012.

Representation matters for Black women college students when it comes to belonging in rigorous science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs, according to a new study. Having role models who share their racial identity is vital to signaling a sense of belonging for women of color college students.
School of Science announces Top 100 Students for 2019
This year 45 School of Science students are on the Top 100 list, up four students from last year. Students will be recognized at the Top 100 Students Recognition Dinner on April 12, 2019. The Top 10 students will be named during the dinner along with one student recognized as “IUPUI’s most outstanding student.”
Science Students participate in Jagathon, raising more money for Riley than any other school
IUPUI students celebrated the capstone of the 17th annual Jagathon--a 15-hour dance marathon--on March 2. These students have also been denoted as "miracle-makers" as they strive to bring hope to the patients at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.
