IU addictions Grand Challenge announces next phase of projects at one-year anniversary of launch
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Fifteen new projects have been awarded funding as part of phase two of Indiana University's Responding to the Addictions Crisis Grand Challenge.
The projects -- including the impact of opioid addictions on the labor market, examinations of stigma and a study of how a more effective version of naloxone might be created -- represent the innovative, cross-disciplinary work that is the hallmark of IU's Grand Challenge initiatives.
School of Science announces $1M gift from Bart Ng, emeritus dean
The School of Science at IUPUI has received a $1 million planned gift from retired dean Bart Ng. The gift will endow a professorship within the Department of Mathematical Sciences in honor of Ng's late brother Joseph S. Ng.
Registration is now open for the 2018 Brain Bee
Open to students in grades 9-12, registration for the 2018 Brain Bee at IUPUI is now open. The competition will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 8, in Lilly Auditorium in University Library.
The International Brain Bee aims to motivate high school students to learn about the brain and inspire the pursuit of careers in neuroscience research. The IUPUI Departments of Psychology and Biology sponsor the local Brain Bee as part of the School of Science's commitment to advancing scientific minds and fostering community interest in the sciences.
