Begin your journey in computer science

Our faculty and students are active learners and leaders in one of the fastest-growing fields in the United States. And we’re excited to find out what you can bring to our engaging and research-driven community.

When you’re a student in the Department of Computer and Information Science, you’ll benefit from small class sizes that provide hands-on experience and the expertise of accomplished faculty.

Whether you want to pursue an undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degree, you’ll find a program that aligns with your interests and provides you with the creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills you need to succeed.

IUPUI's next chapter

The 2023–2024 academic year will be the last year in which students will be admitted to the IUPUI computer science program. Those who are admitted in the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters will be able to finish their degrees by taking the IUPUI courses necessary even after the transition.

After the IUPUI students finish and graduate the IUPUI CS program will end and the current Computer Science Department will be part of the Purdue University West Lafayette program. During this time and during the transition period following the official transition, the IUPUI courses offered may be limited.
