Project SEED

Project SEED

Project SEED is a summer internship for high school students at IUPUI and is a program of the American Chemical Society. This program brings students into chemistry labs for a hands-on research internship experience in a university or industry science laboratory.

This program was established by the American Chemical Society in 1968, and the Indianapolis program started in 1972, providing the opportunity for local high school students to explore scientific research. Project SEED encourages students from low-income households to apply; any participant whose family income is under 200% of the Federal Poverty guidelines will be reviewed for stipend support. If you are interested in a summer research opportunity, but do not meet the income guidelines, please consider applying for Indianapolis Project STEM.

Project SEED is a competitive program with an application and interview process. Applications are due March 1. Accepted students will be matched with research instructors who host and mentor students in a lab. This is a full-time experience with attendance expected Monday-Friday for eight hours per day.
