STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
Residential Learning Community
In Fall 2016, the STEM Community will move from University Tower to the newly built North Hall.
The STEM Community is a first year living learning community for freshman majoring in the Schools of Engineering & Technology and Science. The living learning community promotes scholarship and camaraderie among first year STEM students. The community will offer activities focused on tutoring, career investigation, social, and first year programs.
Students in the STEM community are encouraged to enroll in the STEM Summer Bridge program to enhance their first year experience and membership in the Gateway STEM Community.
North Hall is the first traditional residence hall constructed at IUPUI since the founding of the campus in 1969. The 172,000 square-foot building, located on North Street, will provide housing for 700 students. The residence hall has been intentionally designed to promote resident interaction through the creation of welcoming common spaces, including a grand lobby and micro-lounges throughout each residential floor. Additionally, the building will feature a computer lab, game room, fitness area, laundry facility, a large programming area, and two classrooms.
Residents assigned to North Hall will be required to select a meal plan. Please visit food.iupui.edu for more information.
